Introducing Don Rodriguez
Don
was born September 1947 in New Orleans Louisiana
Joining the United States Navy in February 1965;
Don served aboard the USS Hector (AR-7), a fleet
repair ship, as a Machinist Mate until his release
from active duty in December 1969.
Upon returning to the New Orleans area he worked
as a diesel mechanic and progressed to higher
level of management in the marine and oil industries
until 1983. His last position in the marine
industry was as Maintenance Manager for Gulf
Fleet Marine (Now part of Tidewater Marine Industries).
With the down turn of the Oil industry in the
early 80’s, Don decided to make a career
change and assumed a position as a Sales Engineer
with Chromium Corporation (A leader in industrial
hard chrome plating). During his tenure at Chromium,
Don developed the Marine market for hard chrome
plating of diesel engine cylinders, and also
assumed secondary duties as Project Manager
for development of EMD and General Electric
power assembly production lines. As project
manager, production increased to the point of
500 power assemblies per month for the US, Mexico
and Brazil rail markets. After successfully
developing these production processes in-house;
Don moved into the field, selling to the international
market. Don's efforts resulted in bringing Chromium
Corp from zero income in Mexico and Brazil to
five million in sales per year.
In June of 2002 change was afoot again as Don
started Rodco Power Products Inc. to act as
Manufacturer’s Representative and Engineering
Consultant. To date, RodCo has completed a number
of engineering projects in the UK for ROMIC
International, and has consulted for Bell South
, Cummins Midsouth, Stewart & Stevenson,
and other leaders in the Marine industry. RodCo
also acts as Manufactures Rep. for Algae-X International
(a leader in diesel fuel conditioning technology),
and Trac Ecological Marine Products (an innovator
in biodegradable products for descaling across
a broad spectrum of industries). |
